How does it work?

Our tank liners are simple to install with minimal skilled labour. We make our tank liners oversized – they are inserted into the manhole at the top of your tank, simply put a ladder down and jump inside them, then push them out to the walls of the tank. You will need some beading, this can be wooden, aluminum, rubber etc to attach them around the top of the tank. They need to be installed baggy so that there is no downward pressure on the beading. If there are inflow/outflow pipes, you need to cut holes in the liner and get a flange of the correct size to seal the pipe and the liner to prevent leaks. You do not need a protective layer between this liner and the tank as this fabric is very strong and durable.

Our tank liners are manufactured using food grade (AS/NZS 4020 potable water certified) supported liner material suitable for use in a wide range of water and effluent containment and storage applications. This fabric is lightweight and extremely tough with a 20 year UV warranty and high tear strength.

Tank Liner Fabric Properties

  • 400gsm (0.5mm thickness) or 480gsm (0.65mm thickness) Polypropylene
  • BPA free
  • AS/NZS 4020 approved for contact with potable water – ideal for grey, black and potable water storage applications. One liner material suits most applications.
  • Environmentally friendly Polypropylene – both the manufacture and eventual disposal of the 100% recyclable material ensures minimal impact on the environment with no chlorine or heavy metals in the production of the product.
  • Tested to 39m waterhead (400kPa)
  • Complies with 3.6.1 of AS2304-2011 (water storage tanks for fire protection systems)
  • High strength material with durable layered technology supported by high strength woven base material
  • Watertight joints are achieved utilizing double weld heat welding
  • Conforms to the seepage requirement of less than 0.1mm/1cbm per day
  • Generally, any liquid with a pH in the range of 6-8 is able to be in contact with Aquamark. pH of 4 & less is not suitable. Between pH 4 and pH 6, you will need to seek advice from us as to suitability. If the storage requirement is above pH 10, this product is not suitable. Between pH 8 & pH 10, you will need to seek our advice.
  • 20 year warranty against UV degradation
  • Other options available

Repairs

In the unlikely event that you get a hole in your liner, contact us for specialised repair tape, and follow the following instructions:

  1. Clean the area by scrubbing hard with a Jif-like product.
  2. The area must be clean and dry before applying the tape.
  3. Tape must be warm; best to apply on a day over 20 degrees as it needs to be sticky before applying.

2024 Awards for Excellence Winner

For this project, we were approached to design and fabricate covers to be retrospectively fitted to 4 tanks that were final step in the solids/sludge process at a Wastewater Treatment Plant, and are used to hold the processed Bio Solids before the material is sprayed onto nearby pine trees as a fertiliser. We then teamed up with an Engineering group who had been tasked with designing the frames over the tanks, and developed a sectional lid. The design included a reinforced apex with lifting straps, two inspection hatches and skirt with webbing tie downs to ratchets which were fitted to the tank walls.
