Pool covers provide you with a warmer pool, longer season, reduced evaporation and reduced chemical use. We can supply and fit two types of thermal pool covers. They can either be manually taken off or put on, or a roller can be installed at one end of the pool and the cover rolled off and on with ease.

Duokote Thermal Blanket

How it works

  • Thermal blanket covers float on the pool surface.  The closed cell foam core creates an insulating layer which traps heat in the pool

Applications

  • The heavy duty Duokote is suitable for both commercial & residential pools
  • The superior heat retention makes them the preferred option for heated pools
  • Duokotes' durability makes it the preferred option for schools & commercial applications

Construction

  • A layer of closed cell foam laminated between two sheets of woven PE film
  • The PE film is UV stabilised & formulated specifically for the harsh pool environment

 

Cover Care

  • Never shock dose the pool while the cover remains on
  • Never dose the pool with algaecides whilst the cover is on
  • Using a reel will extend the life of the cover

Warranty

Three year limited warranty - we are the agent for BMH (Auckland) - this warranty covers  faulty material & workmanship - this is based upon you returning the cover to Auckland.

What is the life expectancy of a Duokote cover? Approximately 8 years subject to customer care

How effective is a Duokote cover at retaining heat? Duokote has a thermal resistance (R) value of 0.094 and virtually eliminates evaporation. this enables a Duokote cover to save up to 70% of the pool heating energy requirements

What colours are available ? sky blue, royal blue, grey and black

Do I need a cover on an indoor pool ? Yes - covers significantly reduce indoor condensation as well as saving heat loss

Applications

  • the heavier grades (500 & 600 micron) solar blankets are ideally suited to both residential & commercial/school pools
  • the lighter grades (400 micron) solar blanket is ideally suited to smaller residential pools
  • solar blanket covers suit pools relying solely on the sun for heat

Construction

  • a layer of dimpled clear plastic laminated to a layer of flat clear plastic
  • the plastic is UV stabilised & formulated specifically for the harsh pool environment

  • the Soltego range with the traditional round bubble
  • the all new triple cell 610 with the revolutionary Tri-bubble

How do I decided which grade of bubble cover to buy? The thicker the grade of solar blanket, the more durable the cover.  Choose the thickest grade that your budget will allow

Which side goes up? The flat side is the top & the bubble side is on the bottom

Can I get a black cover? No - on black covers the sun tends to heat the cover rather than the pool.  The blue covers are superior as they allow the sun through to heat the water

Do I need to cover an indoor pool? Yes - it significantly reduces indoor condensation as well as saving heat loss
