School Swimming Pool Covers

Auckland Point School, Nelson
Auckland Point School, Nelson

We measure, supply and install pool covers for any size pool.  Choose from bubble covers, blanket covers or debris covers - we make sure they fit and function properly.  We can also supply the reels if needed.

Pool covers provide you with a warmer pool, longer season, reduced evaporation and reduced chemical use. We can supply and fit two types of thermal pool covers. They can either be manually taken off or put on, or a reel can be installed at one end of the pool and the cover rolled off and on with ease.

Duokote Thermal Blanket

How it works:
Thermal blanket covers float on the pool surface. the closed cell foam core creates an insulating barrier minimising heat loss via evaporation.

Applications

  • the heavy duty Duokote is suitable for both commercial and residential pools
  • the Duokote covers' superior heat retention make it the preferred option for heated pools
  • Duokote durability make it the preferred option for schools and commercial applications

Construction

A layer of closed cell foam laminated between two sheets of woven, PE film the PE film is UV stabilised and formulated specifically for the harsh pool environment

Cover Care

  • never shock dose the pool while the cover remains on
  • never dose the pool with algaecides while the cover remains on
  • using a reel will extend the life of the cover

how effective is a Duokote cover at retaining heat ?

  •   Duokote has a thermal resistance (R) value of 0.094 and virtually eliminates evaporation. this enables a Duokote cover to save up to 70% of the pool heating energy requirements

what colours are available ?

  •  sky blue, royal blue, grey and black

do I need a cover on an indoor pool ?

SoltegoThermal Blanket

How it works:
Solar blanket covers float on the pool surface. the air bubbles create an insulating layer which traps heat in the pool

Applications

  • the lighter grade 400 micron solar blanket is ideally suited to smaller residential pools
  • solar blanket covers suit pools relying solely on the sun for heat

Construction

  • a layer of dimpled clear plastic laminated to a layer of flat clear plastic
  • the plastic is u.v. stabilised and formulated specifically for the harsh pool environment
